Become a Volunteer and Make a Difference!

At Phila Digital Health Equity Network (PDHEN), we believe that community-driven change is the key to achieving health equity through digital innovation. As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in helping us bridge the gap between underserved communities and the digital health tools that can improve their lives. By volunteering with PDHEN, you can be part of a movement that ensures every individual, regardless of where they live, can access healthcare information and services through technology.

Why Volunteer with PDHEN?

Volunteering with PDHEN allows you to:

  • Make a lasting impact: Help us empower communities with digital health literacy and improve access to health services in rural areas.

  • Gain valuable experience: Work on meaningful projects, collaborate with healthcare professionals, IT experts, and community leaders to address real-world challenges.

  • Be part of the change: Learn new skills while contributing to the development and sustainability of innovative health solutions.

  • Join a community: You’ll become part of a diverse network of volunteers, united by the desire to create lasting change through technology and education.

How You Can Get Involved

We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities tailored to your skills and interests:

  • Digital Literacy Trainers: Help individuals in rural communities learn how to use digital health tools like MomConnect and B-Wise. You’ll be guiding people on how to access health information, navigate online platforms, and use mobile health applications.

  • Community Engagement Advocates: Work directly with local leaders and community members to promote our Digital Health Literacy Hubs. Engage with the community to understand their needs, promote participation, and spread awareness about the benefits of digital health tools.

  • Research Assistants: Support our ongoing efforts in understanding the barriers and opportunities for digital health literacy in rural areas. Assist in conducting surveys, analyzing data, and gathering insights to continuously improve our programs.

  • Creative Volunteers: Have skills in storytelling, content creation, or design? Use your talents to help us craft educational materials, create awareness campaigns, or develop visual and interactive content that will resonate with the communities we serve.
